BPMA Golf Day 2022
The Results are in
Held at the stunning Vale Resort in Glamorgan this year, the Welsh National course produced a challenge for our teams with less reliance on sand traps than some courses, shot management proved to be the deciding factor here negotiating unforgiving fairways, water and natural hazards.
A slight amendment to this event's popular Texas Scramble Format this year saw some close scores and some surprising results.
Each team had to declare 4 tee shots used by each player in place of 3
This small change saw only 2 spare Tee shots available to each team as opposed to 6 in previous years.
After the event, it was thought that this small change had lent itself to a more bonded Team experience with less reliance on one particular player.
The day started well with Steve Schofield giving the team talk and outlining the day’s event over Tea, Coffee and bacon rolls before the players set off to collect their buggies which this year came with sat nav and a course map. Team photos were taken on the first tee and again this year a video of the event from a hardworking Steve Ashman of Ashman media will be available to view here shortly. Slightly overcast with an 18mph wind that added to the challenge the day morphed into glorious sunshine for the rest of the day.
In the evening over a delicious meal stories of the day were shared. Before declaring the results Steve Schofield thanked the sponsors of the event Flowserve, Stuart Turner, ABB, Reflex Winkelman and WEG UK for their support stating that without this support the event would not be able to take place.
The results were then announced and congratulations go to: -
