"Buy with Confidence" from BPMA Members

BPMA informs AGM of recent activities & achievements

The BPMA held its Annual General Meeting at the Wychwood Park Hotel in Cheshire on 14th November, where presentations were given on another truly successful year of operation for the Association.

The first key point to be highlighted was that over the past twelve months, the overall BPMA membership had risen to 88 companies - the highest ever.

The second important figure to be referenced was the 207 circulars that have been sent out to all association contacts, detailing the output from the Technical, Standards, Marketing and Council meetings, along with updates on legislation from Europe and around the world. Further regular updates on the implications of Brexit for UK industry have also been distributed via the BPMA’s membership of EURIS (European Union Relationship & Industrial Strategy) Taskforce.

Delegates were then treated to a presentation from Terry Boniface of BEIS (the UK Government Department for Business Energy & Industrial Strategy) who gave an update and general overview of the current ‘state of play’ within his sphere of activity. He was engaged for quite some time with several challenging questions from the floor, which were handled with both insight and good humour.

There was also a presentation from Jeremy Leonard and Oxford Economics, detailing improvements made to 2019's World Pump Report and the continuing improvements that will be made to the 2020 edition of the Report.

This excellent resource is given free to all BPMA members as part of their annual membership fee, and now comes with ‘Power BI’, a powerful tool that enables users to drill down into the information and extract specific figures on pump type, sectors and by country and region.
