Role Summary:

In this role you will be responsible for the effective day to day running of all areas pertaining to the Quick Response Centre workshop operations, including: Repair, Assembly, Inspection, Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Management and Machining. This position supervises the manufacturing & repair team to deliver production in accordance with company objectives, driving and monitoring a culture of safety. Workshop Supervisor keeps effective communication with Order Fulfillment, Commercial Operations, Field Services, Contracts and Sales teams in order to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. While reporting to the General Manager, you will supervise a team of 15.

Responsibilities & Requirements: You will be involved in the following tasks:

Lead workshop operations to meet monthly/annual business plan.

Effectively supervise repair personnel, machinists and shipping/receiving personnel directly or through leads, including the PMP process for direct reports and assuring coordination and integration of production execution, utilization of resources, machines, equipment and facilities.

Lead, recruit and retain a diverse workforce for the present and future, ensuring the succession plans are in place for the critical roles within the team.

Maintain an effective system of scheduling, inventory control and quality management. Monitor all workshop documentation.

Drive QRC performance metrics for Safety, Quality, OTD, and the required QRC key performance indicators. Keep workshop efficiency and utilization up to standards.

Support engineering function through providing technical application support and/or product support to customers as required.

Drive and promote a world class Safety Culture in the manufacturing area of the QRC in line with local regulations and company policies. Institutionalize the 6S system.

Provide support for change, motivating direct reports to challenge established work process collaboratively in order to continuously improve methods and skills.

What do you need for this job:

Post-secondary diploma/certificate or equivalent in industrial area.

5+ years of experience in supervisory role.

Sound understanding of machine shop processes and procedures.

Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.

Strong computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office, familiar with ERP systems workflow (SAP, Oracle).

Customer focus.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

Previous experience preferably within the rotating equipment industries.

Strong technical understanding of pumps, seals and pumping systems.

An effective coach able to drive employee development and high performance across the QRC
