ATEX 94/9/EC ( EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES )

A new 23 page  EC Guidance document on the transition from the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC to Directive 2014/34/EU is now available. This document consists of a detailed FAQ section covering both horizontal questions (in line with the latest Blue Guide text) and sectorial ones (applicable to ATEX only)

Within the new Directive 2014/34/EU which becomes live in April 2016 there is a requirement for the electronic provision of documentation for components in accordance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU. Article 6(3) of the revised Directive stipulates that components, as defined in Article 2(3), need to be accompanied by an attestation of conformity. Moreover, Article 6(8) requires instructions and safety information to be supplied with the products, including components. We are hoping that further clarification will be received on documentation to be supplied with components.
